SUPER XEVIOUS FAMICOM

FUNGERAR PÅ JAPANSK ELLER REGIONSFRI ENHET

Super Xevious[a] is a vertical-scrolling shooter arcade game developed and released by Namco in 1984. It is an updated version of Xevious, released a year prior, and the second entry in the Xevious series.. Like the original game, the player controls a starship known as the "Solvalou", equipped with two weapons; an "air zapper" to defeat flying enemies, and a "blaster bomb" to destroy ground-based enemies. It also ran on the Namco Galaga arcade board.

Super Xevious was created as a response to the overwhelming success of the original in Japan, appealing to veteran players specifically. New enemy types were added, including metallic Galaxian flagships - some of these will also revert the player's score to zero if destroyed. Critical reception was positive, and is cited as an improvement over the original. It has been ported to a number of systems, including the Sharp X68000 and PlayStation, alongside inclusion in several Namco video game collections.

The gameplay is very much like that of the original Xevious except this time it is a little more difficult. Several new enemies have also been introduced (including a silver Galaxian flagship, a rare silver Galaga "scorpion" ship, two jet planes, a helicopter, and a dark yellow Tank Battalion tank). Some of these enemies will reset the player's score back to 0 if they are destroyed - and the hidden "Sol Citadel" towers and Rally-X Special Flags are also located in different places.
